LEGAL/OPERATIONAL  REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid Business License

Must be a member of a Transport Association recognized by the Land Transport Authority

Must become the member of National Tourism Association or any other recognized by NTP

B.

TRAINING

Drivers must have completed and passed the Tourism Public Transport Service Training Program offered by the NTP or any other recognized institution

Drivers must be owners of the vehicle, unless there is a 12-month employment contract between

Owner and driver.

C.

INFORMATION

Must carry destination map and guide book at all times.

Approved Land Transport Authority rates must be visible in the vehicle at all times

All drivers must have general knowledge of all tourism product locations

D.

COMMUNICATION

Operations must be able to cater to English and/or Urdu speaking tourists

Drivers must have with them during every tour a mobile phone with sufficient credit for emergency calls

E.

PRESENTATION

All drivers must wear clean and approved association uniforms when on duty

All drivers must be neat, tidy and well groomed. Concessions for long beards will be made due to cultural reasons

Drivers are not to wear hats when on duty unless it is part of an approved association uniform

F.

IDENTIFICATION

All drivers must display their Land Transport Authority name tag, which should contain the following details:

·       Full name (as shown on birth certificate)

·       Current photograph of driver

·       Driver’s license number

·       Name of Membership Association

G.

GENERAL, SAFETY & SECURITY

All vehicles must always carry on board approved first aid kit at all times

All drivers must have attained a certificate in first aid training (offered by Center of Excellence for National Tourism “CENT” or any other training provider recommended by the NTP)

All vehicles must have good air-conditioning system

All vehicles glass must be in good condition and without fractures at all times

All vehicles must have spare tyres that are in good condition and a tyre jack

All Driver must not have any criminal records relating to driving public transport such as:

·    Abusive language  

·    Sexual harassment

·    Assault

Vehicle must meet the NTP approved list of vehicle models

All vehicles must have safety seat belts available for all passengers at all time

Drivers must have attained a certificate in life saving skills and first aid training (offered by a training provider recognized  by the NTP or Center of Excellence for National Tourism “CENT”)
