Must become the member of National Tourism Association or any other recognized by NTP |

Briefing to be done at the beginning of every rafting tour |

IDENTIFICATION |
|
All raft boat operators must display their name tags which must contain the following details: |
· Full name (as shown on birth certificate) |

· Current photograph of operator |
|
· Full name of business (as known to tourists) |
|

EQUIPMENT’S |
|
Helmets must be worn by all rafters on all sections. |
|
Well stocked first aid kit repair kit and pump on board at all times |
|
Throw-able rescue devices (Rescue Bags) must be available for immediate use on all rafts. |
|
Life jackets must be available at all times |
G. |
OPERATIONAL, SAFETY & SECURITY REQUIREMENTS |
|
The tour must not expose customers to dangerous areas (briefing of dangerous areas must be provided) |
|
The briefing must highlight the equipment used, do's and dont's, falling out, flip drill, rescue and emergency procedures. |
|
A liability waiver form clearly highlighting the risk involved must be signed by all participants prior to the commencement of the activity. |
|
Boats must be tidy at all times prior to carrying any passengers |
|
Must have safe and easily accessible pick up and drop off points |
|
Updated rates must be available to customers at all times. |
|
Boat operators must have attained a certificate in life saving skills and first aid training (offered by Center of Excellence for National Tourism “CENT”) or a training provider recognized by the NTP |

RISK MITIGATION
|
|
Life Jackets: No rafting activity should be undertaken without a lifejacket throughout the time spent in the water. The life jacket must have adequate buoyancy, should be fastened properly and checked by the instructor prior to the commencement of the rafting activity. The lifejacket must be the appropriate size for the intended user.
|
|
Guides: No rafting activity should be conducted without the presence of trained guide/s.
|
|
Participants with any medical condition (such as weak heart condition, epilepsy, recent surgery/ any medical condition of concern or expecting mothers) making them unfit for participation in the activity must be informed prior to the commencement of the activity and not allowed to participate. |
